3+3 free tools for moving your life and your stuff online
2007 was the year of the Great Laptop Crash and Burn aka the year my laptop died. I decided then that I was going to move as many applications online as possible. The goal is to be able to travel to anywhere without taking a computer with me and still be able to access all my stuff (and still blog) - maybe with the help of a USB drive. So below are some online tools that I use to replace hard drive applications.
1. Online Desktop: Peepel and Desktop Two. Store files, images, and music online. Plus they both have spreadsheets and document writers compatible with Microsoft Office; easy to use and understand.
2. Bookmarks: Google Bookmarks and Delicious. Websites are saved to Google and individual pages used as references are saved to Delicious.
3. Finance: Moneytrackin.com and ClearCheckbook. I started with Clearcheckbook and it's great, but I think MoneyTrackin is even better because you can have multiple projects, so I use it for personal and blogging/business finances.
4. Password manager: Clipperz. No need to provide email address.
5. Image editors: Cellsea & Picnik. Cellsea doesn't require registration, so I use it more often. They aren't Photoshop, but they are good for editing pictures for use in website posts.
6. Social Networking: SocialUrl to show all your social networks on one one page [my page].
